Adults are not the only one who experience abuse. Deaf children and youth may experience unhealthy relationships, whether that is with their parents or in their own relationships. Deaf Unity empowers children and youth to better understand healthy relationships through education, outreach, and advocacy. This allows them to process their trauma sooner than later, whether they realize it or not. Our Statewide Children and Youth Coordinator provides education to children and youth of all ages, at various schools where Deaf students are enrolled, and at conferences. The coordinator also provides advocacy services by providing support, resources, and connections to help children and youth in their healing journey from violence to healthy homes and relationships.
